Halli Hallo from across the world, my friends!
Actually I wanted to wait with this report a few days, but since einflattern me by now complaints and turn my spam filters can, I will sometimes exceptionally not be so. Makes you why but yes of anything, I'll post once at the end of each month and that's that!
So that you may have here now the report for July '09:
On 21 July we are at 22:35 clock (almost) on time from London Main flown to Sao Paulo. For me it was the first flight, but then I was therefore quite excited ... well, in the end it was 14 hours sitting in a drink, get up on sitezn, go to the toilet - the normal biorhythms of the average teenagers indicated. ;)
some point we finally arrived in Sao Paulo, where I once indulged with 2 € a totally overpriced orange juice (yes nu '... I keep thirst had!), It was soon even time on a plane to Santiago to rise, from which we then looked for something over three hours for the first time in our lives the majestic Andes - just incredibly beautiful!
We had just arrived, and then ultimately to the Immigración by since we found out that some people were missing suitcase - now they all again, do not worry. From Sabtiago, we were brought a couple of nice Chilean YFUlern in about two hours away town called Olmué where our first days in Chile, together with the other 60 exchange students should spend. It was unbelievably fun, we learned a lot, made a horseback trip into the city - and I first experienced firsthand what it's like a gringa (foreigner) to be, as to me and two other girls a bus drove past, hung from the two young guys and compliments shouted with laughter and whistling. That was really strange. In fact, I'll stare here more than I would have thought I had always assumed that it would go because I have dark hair - but yes, you can see my gringa here really just here to Chiloe where many people have Nativo-roots and there are few pure-European descent such as are in Santiago.
Speaking of Santiago! Since we were also, in the headquarters of YFU Chile. First of all, at first some Schülerchen were distributed to families in the region of Santiago, who remained after that we were asked if we had no desire, on the Cerro San Cristobal, go to the mountain of Santiago. Yes, we had the siggi! : D It was really pretty there, even if the winter Santiago as is often overlaid by a Smogdecke was ... well, as you can see from the photos, you could still see something. The 'good, nech. Then we
were still in a large shopping center, where I rendered for the equivalent of something less than a euro two huge, super delicious ice cream scoops, always under the tired, but nevertheless watchful eye of Anna's. ;)
After we returned to headquarters in Los Leones were, I quickly ate a couple of empanadas (the hit) with! the other and then it was also me time to go to my host family. Moritz drove with me from Germany and Tobias from Denmark, both of which got off to a really comfortable night in the salon cama bus premium , a kind of bus with a bed-sitting in Puerto Montt, while I was still even a few hours Crouch was allowed to stay. That was seen in total rather not 'said the highlight of the day, because you could not see due to constant rain to the ferry really much of the landscape, but the water was then the weather suddenly much better, and I could really wonderful with a cold Windchen on deck of the ferry to see my new home are inching closer ...
I could see by the way also great in the cafeteria, where somehow all the same order: a kind of hot dog with the Chilean version of "sauerkraut" (normal cabbage for me) and lots of ketchup and mustard (!) . I have already told that a striking number of thick mini-Chileans (For the fantasy ones: children) is?
Well, when I arrived in Castro, my family was waiting for me - super nice people, all of them, even with the hangover I have been reasonably made friends ... well, it's a good acquaintance, friendship under construction, under construction ...
I think I would really love it here, my host sisters are two very sweet, my host dad I can see the day before, but he is also very nice, and my host mom gave me even offered me the guitar play to teach something that I wanted to learn you enjoy. :)
far, even the weather, oh the greatest of all exchange-tempered diva played: an always beautiful sunshine, and in winter on an island with about 266 rainy days year. :)
The city is really beautiful by the way, has a charm which has Harzer Roller smell - so much - and there are a lot of fresh fish here, this is guuuut.
What the food here is concerned: yes, they eat may be a bit more than most Germans, but it's not nearly as bad as I thought and I will indeed eventually not have to always eat last night for example, when I had Onze (you eat a small piece of bread or some cookies, and drinks Mate, other tea, coffee ... about 6 clock) is still not hungry, so I have just drunk a mate, the stuff is pretty tasty, if you look at the first has sometimes used to it. At first it gave me not like it, but if it has a couple of times drunk, is it really muy bien!
Today, we have reported to me a kind of Chilean Registration Office ( ha! ), I think tomorrow I get also a Chilean identity card ... dunno if I have understood my host mom right, I'm here pretty much on the nod, smile and "Si, si" say, if you know what I mean. ; D
morning we probably also going to buy my school uniform (school starts on 3 August), and on Friday I want my family with me to Puerto Montt Temuco, or even (so exactly know yet none ; D) drive, since, so says my host mother, there's also zapatos superlindos so beautiful shoes for the school uniform, as in our island.
Hm ... so ... you see the photos, I hope. Now in the know, Dorödelchen. And you others, too. ;)
Best wishes to Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, and anyone else who wants to feel Greetings from across the world.
Ciao, Inga
